Divinity Proofs

Divinity of Christ

Luke 1:46
And Mary said: “My soul exalts the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

Luke 2:11
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Titus 1:3
but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior

Isaiah 43:10-11
“You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,  “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. 11 “I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me.

Mary rejoiced in the birth of the Savior- that Isaiah says is YHVH
Christ is God.

Divinity 2

Deuteronomy 6:16
“You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.
LORD = YHVH
The same quote of this verse in the New Testament in
Matthew 4:7
Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written: ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”
LORD = Kyrios
YHVH = Kyrios

So when we read Acts 2:36 where it says
Acts 2:36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both LORD and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.
.... It is saying that God made Christ YHVH and it is consistent with John 17:5 where Christ says He had Glory before the World was.
John 17:5
5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Divinity 3

Isaiah 48:11- 16
For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another. 12 “Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. 13 “Surely My hand founded the earth,  And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together. 14 “Assemble, all of you, and listen! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon, And His arm will be against the Chaldeans. 15 “I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him, I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful. 16 “Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord God has sent Me, and His Spirit.

If verse 11 is Christ saying that He does not share glory with another, why does He spend so much time glorifying the Father? If verse 12 is to be interpreted as meaning the Father, then why would He refer in verse 16 to "the Lord God who sent me"

Divinity 4

John 4:13-14
13Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

Christ is the one giving living water

Revelation 21:6
Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.

The Alpha and Omega is God who gives living water, and Christ is the one giving living water.

Revelation 21:7
7“He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.

Christ is God

Divinity 5

Revelation 22:13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

In Revelation we see the statement of the Alpha and Omega

Revelation 22:16
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

3 verses later we see that it is Christ who is identified as the Alpha Omega

Revelation 1:7-8,
7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

The Alpha and Omega is the Lord God who is the Almighty who was pierced.

Revelation 1:17-18
17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, 18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

The same Alpha and Omega was the one who was Pierced and was dead but is alive forevermore.

Christ is God, and the Alpha and Omega.

Divinity 6

Jude 1:5 Esv
5 Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

1 Corinthians 10:1–4
For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and all ate the same spiritual food; 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.

Hosea 13:4-5
Yet I have been the Lord your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me.5 I cared for you in the wilderness, In the land of drought.

Hebrews 11:24-28
24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

Isaiah 43:10-15
10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. 11 I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no Savior.I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God.13 Also henceforth I am He; there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?” 14 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“For your sake I send to Babylon and bring them all down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships in which they rejoice.15 I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

Christ is God

Divinity 7

Revelation 17:14
14“These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

The Lamb, Christ, is Lord of lords and King of kings.

Mark 12:29-30
29Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;
30AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’

Mark12:32
The scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that HE IS ONE, AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BESIDES HIM

John 10:30
I and the Father are one.

God is Lord and there is one Lord.

Christ is God

Divinity 8

Isaiah 43:14-15
Thus says the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And will bring them all down as fugitives, Even the Chaldeans, into the ships in which they rejoice. 15 “I am the Lord, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.”
Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Christ is God the Creator of Israel and King.

Divinity 9

Hebrews 1:2-3
2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Christ is the EXACT representation of God's nature.
John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being
Christ is in the beginning WITH God and IS God and agrees with Hebrews, that all things came to be through By Christ
John 1:14
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Word that was with God and was God became flesh and dwelt among us.

Colossians 2:8-9
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form
The Word that was God and with God became flesh, and the FULLNESS of God dwelled in Him.

Christ is God
